Community Association Services (CAS), which offers homeowner and condominium services, has opened its newest office in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Katie Patnode, Certified Manager of Community Associations, will manage the Wilmington office, which is located at 1213 Culbreth Drive, Suite 112. The telephone number is 910.509.7197, ext. 1301.
The CAS main office is located in Pinehurst. Other CAS offices are located in the Chapel Hill/Durham, Raleigh, Apex/Cary, and Greensboro/Winston-Salem areas.
CAS represents the Blue Point HOA Inc. in New Hanover County, as well as St. James Plantation POA, Marina at St. James, Regency Place Owners Association, Seaside and Oyster Harbour Homeowners Association in Brunswick County.
“CAS is excited to open our coastal management office in Wilmington,” says John Stone, CAS President and CEO. “With 6,000 units currently under management in New Hanover and Brunswick counties, we have obviously received a very warm reception thus far and see this part of the state as a major growth area. We intend to become a major part of the condominium and home owner association community here for many years to come.”
The qualifications of the employees of CAS are simply unsurpassed in the Association management industry in North Carolina. With a Certified Public Accountant, Professional Community Association Manager and Attorney on staff, CAS is able to bring a level of expertise that cannot be provided by the personnel of typical management companies. This often benefits the associations by reducing audit fees since a CPA prepares the records in order to expedite the outside auditor’s work. Legal fees may be reduced as well since a “quick” legal answer may be handled without having to contact the association’s attorney. CAS also has managers who are certified and licensed to operate commercial swimming pools and landscape companies. These credentials provide a higher level of management expertise to the Board of Directors.
John Stone, CAS President and CEO, has over 16 years experience managing all types of single family, town home, condominium and timeshare associations. He has received the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), the Association Management Specialist (AMS) and the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), the highest designation offered by the Community Association Institute. He is particularly knowledgeable about the developer transition process.
Rebecca Stone, CAS Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, is a CPA with over 20 years experience, She is responsible for overseeing the financial operations for the associations, including the preparation of financial statements. An expert in preparing financial statements that can be understood by accountants and the average layman, she has developed a unique budget worksheet to streamline the annual budget process for association boards.
Ed Bedford, CAS Vice President, manages the company’s Triangle operations and has over 20 years of experience in real estate and homeowner associations. He is an attorney admitted to practice in North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. His professional credentials include the Association Management Specialist and Certified Manager of Community Associations designations from the Community Association Institute. He is also a N.C. Real Estate Broker, Certified North Carolina Superior Court Mediator, Certified Pool and Spa Operator and Notary Public.
